Proud and Loyal Packer Fans
Being a longtime Packer fan, while en route to a game at Lambeau Field
during the 1995 season, I wrote this song in the car. I had a feeling
the Pack would soon be Super Bowl contenders and as it turned out, the
next season they went to the Big Game! By that time, I had recorded the
song and released it on my first album, "Living in the North Country." It
turned out to be quite successful and I was fortunate to have it played
on the radio throughout the state during the Super Bowl run. The song
was also used in a movie entitled "Our Pack," about the loyal
fans of the Green Bay Packers.
Lyrics
We're proud and loyal Packer fans, we live for all the games
We love to watch the Packers play, kick butt and take some names,
We'll stand up and cheer loudly for each block and run and pass
And when we play the Vikings, we love to kick their ...
We were there in "67" when Bart Starr made his sneak
We all went wild and crazy, the Pack had hit their peak,
But long before Lombardi, the Pack stood proud and tall
Lambeau, Hutson, Johnny Blood, were heroes in the fall
Some fans they are so fickle, when their team starts to lose
But cheeseheads in the northland know there's just one team to choose,
Through good times and the bad ones, they'll always be our boys
So wear your colors proudly, stand up and make some noise
Tailgating out at Lambeau before the kickoff time
The smell of charcoal in the air, it makes me feel just fine
Drink up that cup of coffee, turn on your radio
Jim, Max, and Larry's on the air, come on it's time to go
We'll gather 'round on Sunday and wish the boys some luck
We'll hang up all our banners, look there's one, "The Bears Still ..."
So raise your beer and bratwurst, shout out that victory call,
Cause when he Packer's take the field, they'll always give their all
We're proud and loyal Packer fans and we can't wait for fall!
